Lawn Cemetery



Stowupland Lawn Cemetery is located in the centre of the village on Church Road(A1120) opposite the Village Hall(SATNAV - IP14 4BQ).


It was founded in 1907, there are two main burial areas to the cemetery, incorporating two styles of graves – lawn and traditional. There are separate areas for Cremated remains internment and Infant graves. It also features a War Memorial, a  Wall of Remembrance and contains two Commonwealth War Graves.

Cemetery Policy

​The death of a loved one is a distressing experience. The purpose of the Cemetery Policy is to provide guidance and support families with both the initial and the long term care of their loved one’s grave space in the Lawn Cemetery. It ensures visitors and those who maintain the Lawn Cemetery are kept safe. Printed copies of the Policy are available from the Parish Clerk

Our village Lawn cemetery is where we remember those who have passed before us, but they are in need of help to maintain and take good care of their resting place.


If you are looking for an opportuniity to make a valuable contribution to our community and could you spare a few hours to help with the some of the following:

  • Collecting fallen debis

  • Cutting back overgrown vegetation

  • Tidying forgotten graves

  • Planting and maintaining shrubs 

  • Renovating the Cemetery Building
